why is looking at colleges so hard what the hell

i have no idea what the fuck im meant to be doing lmao. literally nobody in my immediate family has been to college before and my cousin in uni lives tok far and is busy w their degree atm so i have no idea what to do. my secondary school is trying to help?? i think?? but it isnt working very well. currently im just praying i do it right by going off of vague bits of information i can recall and college websites
