Watched Beetlejuice today!! + a rant about the fandom

It's been maybe two years since I've seen it?
STILL ROCKS THOUGH!!!!

I own the box-set for the 80's cartoon but the only bad thing about that show is that the Maitlands aren't in it :(
Especially since in the movie they become a second family to Lydia. I get that in the cartoon Beetlejuice is her best friend, BUT DAMMIT GIVE HER SUPPORTIVE PARENTS!
Even in the cartoon her parents ignore her, so she has to rely on Beetlejuice to keep her company. At least that's how I remember it, I may be wrong.

But, she spends most of her time with Beej in the show and seldom ever is at home. Usually he takes her to the Neitherworld and antics ensue.

Don't get me wrong, I love what the cartoon has to offer and I really enjoy how Lydia has Beetlejuice as her friend, but I wish the Maintlands were at least present. Hell, they were mostly the main focal point of the movie!!
Sucks to see them be snubbed entirely

On the topic of the Beetlejuice show and movies, it's super fucking gross to see people ship Lydia and Beetlejuice together.
EVEN WORSE IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CARTOON. LYDIA IS 12!!! BEETLEJUICE IS 800+ YEARS OLD YOU CREEPS
That and in the movie he only tries to marry her so he can GET OUT. He wants to be free and he needs to get married to do it. SO, he uses Lydia, the only person there who would agree to it as she was in a dire situation. Barbara and Adam needed help, and summoning Beej was the only way to do so.

She NEVER wanted to actually marry him. Especially since she's fucking 16.
This makes me so afraid to associate with the fandom :(
Most everyone from what I've seen is either okay with it or actively supports it. Yeah it's kinda a LOUD minority kinda thing, but a lot of the old and active since the beginning members support beetlebabes or are okay with it.

I so badly want to interact with people who also love the franchise, but I don't want to potentially interact with creeps
