like wtf is the deal with the scene community and being so quick to call ppl 'posers'
not to mention the niche part of them that are super racist and gate-keepy about who can be 'scene' or not. Like isnt scene supposed to be RANDOM?? Diversity = RANDOM!!
In order for something to be considered unique and individual, you gotta mix it up a bit!
and just bc some alt/emo/goth/etc kids don't listen to 'emo' music doesn't mean that they AREN'T alt/emo/goth/etc!!!
It's okay to listen to other things! You can still be alternative and like different types of music!!

Exactly! The whole point of being alt or edgy is the mentality behind it. I made a whole post about gatekeeping in the community and how it doesn’t protect anybody. It’s just making sure their club is refusing new members. Or members that can’t afford the edgy style.
Like dude, I spent so much money on chokers as a teen. I have 64 of them now. Living edgy is expensive and doesn’t make anybody less or more worthy to be scene/goth/emo/punk etc if they CAN’T AFFORD IT
