PALS FAV HORROR PODCASTS

ok these are going to look ranked but they're not its just a list i came up with i love them all a lot

1. A Voice From Darkness

this is so good!!! its like a radio show where people call in to the podcast (its all fictional but that's the premise) and the narrator helps them through it. he also has segments that are more classic horror anthology stuff that's usually really good! (minor spoiler) the best part is that the father you go, the more you start to realize the show host is actually more sinister than he seems and usually doesn't have the interests of his callers as his first priority.

2. The Magnus Archives (obviously)

i can't make a list of horror pods without talking about the magnus archives. this is the first horror podcast i ever listened to, and it holds a very special place from my heart. it starts as a horror anthology and then the narrator gets looped into the horrific world mysterious terrifying entities and it goes crazy. i love every character so much, even the antagonists, and its so well-written it makes me think about like symbolism n philosophy and why we're scared of the things we're scared of n shit all the time. ironically it really helped me deal with my anxiety by thinking through it, and its one of the only podcasts i've actually finished lmao

3. Malevolent

currently listening through this bad boy and omg its so interesting!! its about a detective whose sort of like possessed by a demon and the demon is in control of his eyes. its a really interesting way to format a podcast, because the MC is blind, so his demon has to narrate everything he's seeing and you get a lot of really in-depth imagery that way! the character makes a lot of awful decisions but so far i'm rlly enjoying it :)

4. Old Gods of Appalachia

where do i even begin. this fucks so hard. the narrator's voice is so soothing and deep, it really provides the perfect ambience. its one of the only shows where i don't skip through the ads. it tells various spooky stories set in old appalachia, with characters you really start to care for as the show goes on. the writing is fantastic, it has good POC representation (and actually mentions it, unlike other shows where the characters races are up for interpretation so it could technically be as diverse as you want it to be. this actually has plotlines based on the way, say, women of color were treated in 1800s appalachia and how they fought against it supernaturally) i'm hyping it up a lot but i really really love this show, and never get tired of it.

anyway, all of these are awesome and i have listened to more but i don't want to keep typing lmao. highly reccomend!!
