For people that don't know, the Workforce is a place for physically and mentally ill people to find work by a caseworker there. However, you must get an approved entry there. Also you will have to have updated paperwork no later from 2020. Also your medical documents must have a doctor's electronic signature or the people there will not read your paper. At least where I live that is. I also made a very well detailed explanation of how long the approval took in my blogs and other things like that related with government funding. Also Workforce is free. However you're using people's tax dollars for this program. My dad asked once how this was free and the lady was like we use people's tax money on this.
Update on Whataburger job etc.
This was Thursday on the 25th and middle and bottom text follow Friday on the 26th of August of 2020.
So this is what is going to happen. Tomorrow at 9 am Devon from Workforce is going to call Whataburger at another location to see if they will make me a lobby attendant. But when Devon called the head boss wasn't there. Only two regular managers and they said they might have a position for me. So Devon has to call tomorrow if they say yes then he can transfer me over tomorrow then I will quit the Whataburger that I'm out now and tomorrow Devon will see if he or she can get me out of the kitchen tomorrow. If they say no then I'm giving them a two week notice and I'm off with Workforce for another job. However he SAID that I will NOT WALK IN THE KITCHEN TOMORROW. BUT IF THAT HAPPENS. I'M UBERING MY ASS OUT YET AGAIN! I'll let you know what goes on Friday. I won't know till probably 10 a.m. ish
This happened because.
I got blindsided because of my hour changes and there was no need for a lobby attendant in the afternoon. So okay you're not going to give me a phone call? Like the manager at Whataburger? I got a call from my case worker. I had a meltdown in the bathroom and had to leave early. The noise, the loud noises in the kitchen and being fed to the wolves made me completely have a meltdown in the bathroom and I started crying.
I had to take an Uber home that was paid by the Workforce assistant of Devon because they're allowed to do that. My aunt called me later in the day and said she left her phone in the car. My other aunt never responded to me.
So what caused the meltdown was when I clocked in and the lady manager called me in the back and said you will be a food runner. What that means is shouting the numbers to go. Holding the tray and condiments for dinner in order at the same time. The kitchen was so noisy. I got overwhelmed and I started feeling overwhelmed and nauseated and then my case worker pulled me to the side and asked if I needed to go to the bathroom. So I went in there and started breaking down crying. I came back out 15 minutes later and they said I can go home early. Luckily I made it to the bathroom before anyone saw me. I had to Uber my ass home after that. The reason why this happened was I changed my hours from morning to afternoon shifts because then I'll have transportation. But the manager couldn't even tell me my position changed because of my shift hours? I totally disagree with Devon, my case worker. He says managers don't have to tell you if your position changed and it's just part of reality and we need to find a coping mechanism for that.
I really wanted to hang up with him but I couldn't. I had to agree to everything he said. Because he works with people with mental disabilities that's what Workforce and he is telling me that I need to find a coping mechanism? Lol okay.
What was your original application?
My original application was a lobby attendant who is staying in the lobby and only going in the kitchen for a broom or a mop. A food runner and a lobby attendant aren't the same thing. A lobby attendant is attending to lobby guests like asking for condiments or a drink refill. Other duties are cleaning stuff off the tables, chairs, floor, cleaning the table and getting the dine in trays etc. Which in return was fucking boring as hell when I always allowed to do that etc haha.
I want something that I will enjoy. But I was honestly bored from 12-3 p.m. out of my mind. All I did for three hours was clean tables and the trash, reloading the straws and stuff like that. I helped a customer with a spill Friday. But the thing is I'm bored and I did tell Minnie which is the other case worker that was there Friday that I needed something more stimulating such as hanging clothes let's say if I needed to hang clothes up at a fashion retail store that would be fun to me, folding clothes would be fun to me and when I told Devon my favorite chore was laundry well it is. This is when Devon had me go see him in person etc. The whole time I was at Whataburger for three hours I was so bored. I was like can I do something else besides lobby work? I know Devon is going to say well sometimes you've to take what you get. I understand that and that's reality. But Whataburger isn't what I wanted in the first place. When Devon offered the job, I wanted this job to be a try out. If I didn't like the job, I thought well if I'm bored of this place nobody should've an issue with me quitting. Well, it seems like I was wrong. Nothing that Devon said is making me want to quit or anyone in the building of Whataburger. He said they want me to work Friday through Sunday 12-3 p.m. but I just feel this job is just really boring for me and I just simply don't want to do the job. Something I'm more interested in, you know? I guess I could when the resignation letter happens, I guess I can put something like I appreciate the opportunity but at this time I would love to find something that interests me and suits me. But heck I probably can't put that either because that does sound offensive. Even if I tell them I want to move into fashion retail like in a fashion clothing store selling clothes or putting and folding clothes would sound offensive, or even telling them I want to be a cashier or a feeder and a cage cleaner at a pet store and working at Game store is probably really offensive. Anyways, Devon's feelings about me quitting and he has tried multiple times to convince me to stay etc. For some reason he is really obsessed with me working at Whataburger and keep in mind he did change his mind after understanding why I wanted to leave etc. He thinks I'm leaving because of what happened Thursday. No, once I started working as a lobby attendant for 3 hours I was bored out of my fucking mind and in my heart, I feel like the gaming industry and the fashion retail store industry is what I want to try etc. What I mean by fashion retail store industry and this is probably the wrong word for that. But I mean putting up clothes on the rack, folding clothes, seeing what clothes are in stock and being a cashier let's say Old Navy, Ross, JCP, T.J. Maxx and places like that and Devon said that Target would be a no because Target won't take recommendations. I would even look at the bargain bins like Goodwill. Game industry is obvious. GameStop. Which I did look into what people do at this job besides the cashier, organizing the games on the shelf from alphabetical order and also the file cabinet, There was also someone stating that people always stocked up on the latest and updated merchandise as well. My dad also brought up a valid point he goes and you do know you would be working 9 hours a week, right? Then he said if nobody couldn't take you like let's say for example my dad gets sick, my aunt gets sick or my other aunt gets sick then an Uber would be $20 + and I guess through the app you can tip an Uber or do you've to tip an Uber? This I don't know. Anyways my dad was like you do know right all your hours you will work will be just paying Uber drivers if I needed one. I mean he has a point. That means I would be making $10.50 a day. What is the point of working then with that little pay? My dad also says we can't tell Devon this but if you work Friday-Sunday there would be no way we could see your sister. Since my dad works full time and works every third Saturday then the only options, I've are to see my sis for one day on a Saturday and come back home midafternoon back to my dad's house etc.
Family comes first for my sister. But overall, my dad said that for the final third reason would be if you're working 3 hours a day for three days then that seems like a waste of gas * my dad is hinting his gas money, my aunts gas money and my time as well. But my dad isn't even mad that I quit. My dad was like we knew going in this might not be what you're looking for or was your first option for a job would be. I'm just proud of you that you worked and you went in and worked. I told my dad I know and I was thinking in my own wolf skull that I could've been a jerk and refused the interview. Also when I told my dad that least I took the job and gave the job a try that doesn't make me a jerk and my dad was like that is true you know? Which is surprising because me and my dad rarely agree on anything lol. My dad texted Devon and said Tara said that she wants to thank them for the opportunity and working with her. However, she would like to work at a clothing store, pet store, animal shelter and a gaming store. My dad said something else but I already forgot from yesterday haha. But you have to admit though my dad's other reasoning why I shouldn't keep the job is quite valid if you honestly ask me. So, the story will continue thus far.
Also just letting you know Marshalls won't work Devon said that Marshalls is very fast paced and Target won't make accommodations. Don't ask me why Devon said this because in all honesty that could be the manager or the policy of the company itself. I don't know this information. Devon does.
Also, what I mean by I need more hours I mean like the original plan as in 12-6 p.m. at least some money coming in that I will have extra side money for Uber. Working 12-3 p.m. won't be giving me any side money. Why this happened was that Whataburger doesn't need a lobby attendant in the afternoon for long hours. The company does have a night shift for lobby attendants but that won't work. Devon said there is a Whataburger that can take me that is 12 miles away but no. That would cost so much money in Uber. Heck from my dad's house to a 10 minute Whataburger is a $10 something trip just to get there etc.
So, my next thing is I'm just waiting for Devon to call back that he has an interview for me. Devon is the one that hands out my applications and stuff like that because he is my case handler. Also, no news on SSI has been a solid month since my last SSI appointment July 30th of 2022. There is nothing I can do now but my caseworker Devon saying I got an interview now.
Also since July 30th of 2022 at the event of the lizard people. I still have not got my final answer from SSI. If I get denied then I'll have to find a SSI disability lawyer and fight my case. The reason for this is once you get denied the second time you've two choices with SSI. You can start over again with new medical paperwork or hire a free SSI disability lawyer and yeah I know once the free SSI disability lawyers wins your case you'll have to pay them money. Trust me I know LMAO.
