Tales from the cafe - The Married Couple

The Married Couple

Very sad to have finally finished this book but also very happy because it was so good. I feel like this book had more of a moral to it than the first book. It made me actually learn a lesson about death and how i should see it in a more positive manner. This story was about a detective who wanted to travel back thirty years to gift his wife the birthday present he was never able to. After returning to the past he finds out the wife originally thought they were meeting to breakup and the man feels horrible because he feels he was a bad husband all her life. Most of the stories have brought up the concern that you shouldn’t live your life in sadness after the death of a loved one otherwise their life has been gone just for you to be sad. It’s revealed Kazu can no longer serve the coffee to travel others back in time as she is pregnant, how ever, Miki has the power to do so now that she has turned 7. I’ll say it again, more and more has been disclosed about Kazu and her mother, Kaname/the woman in the white dress. While the man was back in the last he was actually able to meet Kaname while she was pregnant with Kazu. At the end of the book, Kaname happily smiled to Kazu for the first time since being a ghost and shortly disintegrates into mist while a new ghostly figure occurs, the old man in black. I am very annoyed that Kaname is gone but excited for the next book. :)
