Still rounding out old skills and artistic habits.

After the sale of a couple of my works, I decided to shop around for sketchbooks suitable for mixed media, and watercoloring paper blocks that are affordable with decent quality. I know that Fabre-Castell is good for a lot of my main supplies, but I've found Arteza to be pretty good as well. Do you have any recommendations for good quality artistic supplies such as notebooks, pads, paper blocks, and other goods that can be found on Amazon?

Oh, and latest sketch. Figured I'd update to share my progress.

Synistral Sketch #1

Mediums used: Arteza basic sketchbook 8"x10", pencil, white charcoal for blending and shading.

I do plan to go back over it for a second attempt later with finetip markers for the line work, and coloring in with charcoal colored pencils I have coming in this week, so I'll try to update with another sketch when I feel it's complete. Have a great week folks. <3

Hmm, interesting drawing! As for art supplies, I'm also most familiar with Faber-Castell, but anecdotally a lot of products on the market seem to be from Staedtler (sp?) as well. And not long ago I spotted markers from Carioca -- the brand we take the Romanian word from. Cool to see an old manufacturer returning like that.

Oh yeah, I've had a few Staedtler products pop up on my shopping list from time to time. My newest item from them was a drawing compass. (I suck with drawing circles and gauged curves but the compass helps steady my hand in that. ^^) Faber-Castell is one I recommend for watercolor pencils, and graphite pencil sets - plus their tools such as sharpeners and so forth are incredibly well constructed.
