My opinion about Dylan Arnold's character he played on "You"

So this morning I came across a post in my Facebook newsfeed from a Netflix group I am in. The post said basically said that the OP of it didn't like Dylan Arnold's acting as Theo in season 3 of "You." So here is my response to the comment.

"Yeah his character did creep me out. Personally I don't think it was his acting for me. The character he played was a bit cringe for me. He was basically your typical rich spoiled kid. Also felt like he somewhat used Love as a sugar mama at times to me. Her buying him Ubers & him so called "leaving his wallet at home, but came to her bakery hungry." (Yeah pretend the quotes are me using my fingers to do air quotes.) Basically this character was not prince charming in my opinion. Now the character Tati Gabrielle played was more wholesome in my opinion.  I do hope this young man in general that played this character gets more roles in other shows or movies to show us more of his potential. If he has then sorry no aware or can't recall seeing him before."

So in my opinion I don't believe it was so much Dylan Arnold's acting as Theo. I believe it was the characters of Theo altogether.  However the OP might have a different opinion that is based on his acting in a while which I humbly respect.

In season 3 yes I felt sorry for his character right after Theo's stepmother went missing.  I really like how Theo gave Sherry a piece of his mind during the search party. So I do give the character props for that. Theo was the only person that put the self absorbed character Sherry in her place. However I began seeing later on he was using Love's sympathy as a way to get things out of her. In a sense it didn't make me hate the character altogether because I saw how Love did look for people to nurture in a sense. I don't believe it started out that she wanted to have romance with him. It was for sure her way to comfort herself to comfort him. Well in that she ended up developing romantic feelings for him. It is weird how the human mind can twist & turn. His character throughout the season showed more of how immature he was. I was happy at the very end of the season to see Theo & his dad finally bonding.  I can't say that I hate the character Theo in general, just there were a good bit of times during the season he made me uncomfortable.  In my opinion he had both good & bad qualities, but he wasn't the worse character ever. Especially in that show!

My Miscellaneous Opinion:

My 2 top worst characters in the show were Dottie & Sherry. Dottie in my opinion I want to say worse than Sherry because she was a very toxic mom to Love. She was selfish & didn't want to see her grandson as a grandchild, but as her son Forty. That is not fair to baby Henry because he should be identical as himself & not someone else. Sherry was in my opinion the second worse character in the show because she was the over grown woman that had the mentality of a mean popular girl in high school & was cruel to judge everyone else. The scene where Love overheard Sherry talking crap about her & her family was brutal & it showed us Natalie's humanity side when she comforted Love. Also how Sherry was all for pro Natalie when Natalie's disappearance sparked media attention. We see before Natalie went missing that Sherry looked down on her. So for her to act like she was Natalie's BFF during the search just pissed me off & also made her character so displeasing to me. That is why I couldn't imagine Love taking up her offer on sex because Sherry is not someone I would even want to be in the same room with much less have sex with. Yuck!

So in conclusion that wraps up my thoughts on this for now. I don't personally hold Dylan Arnold's acting against him because the character he played made me uncomfortable during the show. Someone else in the group commented another movie he played in I will have to go give a watch. Just felt like talking more in depth about the topic. It after all is about one of my favorite shows I look forward to seeing! I figure so much better to blog about if I get long winded about it, rather than add all of that to a comment on a social media platform lol.
