Why pay for anime streaming services? What do you gain from it? Yea, you can watch anime legally... but pirating anime is just as easy, due to that being the main way to watch Japanese animation for like a decade, and all a pirate has to do to share the content to post an MP4 file.
Depending on where you live, content could be geo-locked or censored (not in the way anitubers talk about censorship, god I hate those guys.)...
Okay, let's assume you live in America and you just want to watch the most popular shows airing rn... it makes no sense to pay a subscription just to watch like 5-10 shows when you can just look up [Anime name here] online free. Yea, sure, you might get crypto mined and ads... but most people don't necessarily care or know about what the site is using your device for

there's this anime I used to like. what was it called? ronin maiden? chozen maiden? it's not available on any streaming services. I had to pay a japanese guy 300 dollars for the dvd box set.
