Death of Art in Free Market (Opinion)

As an artist myself, I feel that elitism factor and NFTs are killing art. Commercialism of art is necessary for artists to thrive and flourish but exploiting art as a medium of money laundering is unethical. Support your local independent artists in today's age.

Art Galleries that manipulate perception of what's good art or not and then discriminate against others should be banned or legal actions should be taken against them by their local government. As all artists have right to the art galleries and no artist should achieve that status of elitism over other artists. Galleries should be a platform to bring to light new artists and give them exposure and give the spectators a new vision. Bringing equal opportunities to all artists and bringing them to a same pedestal and not discriminating against them. Elite clubs should not exist in the field of arts. And only with a certain years of experience and you maybe titled experienced or become a judge of upcoming artists. But still these experienced artists will not be superior to a newbie artist. As both newbie and experienced artists should have equal opportunities like opportunities to display their work to public. Experienced artists may have upper hand as they may have better connections and more recognition but art should be a free market with a socialist framework at its core to ensure equal opportunities to all artists.

Art should be a free market. I know it sounds contradicting but understand the context as that free market should have some regulations and rules to protect all. Art should be free market with socialist framework at its core to protect and provide security and equal opportunities to display their work to public. While at the same time Public recognising and choosing their favourite artists and whose content they wanna comsume. And even if public doesn't like your some particular work you still would be provided with equal opportunities and not discriminated against by the system if you wanna produce more work in future. So basically killing the concept of elitism while also giving recognition to good artists. Also it adds original and creative ideas in the flow of pop culture. That's how culture develops and evolves for better.

Today even though we have so much potential yet mainstream music, art, movies ,stories feel stagnant in nature. It's upto public to choose the favourite artworks of their favourite artists individually.

Agree with that though. Online commissions are one of the best things to happen to artists.
