Positive mindset

This is utterly absurd. I'll give you a moment to clear your mind and perhaps read that again: Desiring positive experiences is a rewarding experience, as is accepting terrible experiences. What the philosopher Alan says is negative. The idea that the more you pursue feeling better all the time, the less content you become, as wanting something just confirms the fact that you lack it in the first place, is one that Watts once referred to as "the backwards law." No matter how much money you actually make, the more badly you want to be wealthy, the poorer and more inadequate you feel. Regardless of how hideous you actually think you are, you start to view yourself that way the more urgently you want to be gorgeous and desired. Regardless of those around you, the more you need happiness and affection, the lonelier and more terrified you feel. The more spiritual enlightenment you want, the more shallow and self-centered your pursuit of it becomes.
