okay so Issei Sagawa, if u don't know, is a Japanese murderer and cannibal. he was born in Kyobe, Japan on April 26th, 1949 (officially changing my sun sign, no way we both Taurus bitches). he was lowkey fucked up when he was young yk but it gets worse i promise. he said in interviews and stuff that for as long as he could remember, he had urges, sometimes even strong ones, to eat people. something that contributed heavily to his urges is a game his uncle would play w Issei and his brother, Jun Sagawa. his uncle would chase the two boys around, pretending to be a monster that wanted to eat them. he recalls that even as early in his life as first grade, looking at his classmates and thinking that they looked tasty. fucking gross.

as he grew older, the his urges only got stronger. he was able to repress these urges for 32 years, and then he acted on them. in 1977 he moved to Paris to study for a Ph.D in literature (don't be fooled, this guy is a fuckin dumbass). Issei later claimed that, "Almost every night I would bring a prostitute home and then try to shoot them from behind," he was desperate to go through w killing, and eating a woman. he (luckily) hadn't succeeded until June 11th, 1981.

Renée Hartevelt was a Dutch student of French literature in Paris. sadly, i don't know what day or month she was born but the year was 1956, in the Netherlands. she was beautiful, healthy, and smart, everything that Issei wasn't. she was only 25 when she was murdered.

Issei invited Hartevelt up to his apartment under the guise of dinner and poetry translating. while Hartevelt was reading a poem, Issei went up behind her with a gun and fired, shooting and killing her instantly. it's debated on whether or not he raped her corpse but he did caress her body and take bites out of her flesh. for two days he took bites out of her calves, lips, boobs, and thighs (there are crime scene photos but they're horrible, view at ur own risk !!) when it was time to dispose of the body, he bought two suitcases and stuffed her in there. he took a taxi down to Bois de Boulogne, a public park in Paris, and left the suitcases next to the river. now, this is where he's an absolute moron. that park is huge, and a lot of people like to hang out there. so there are countless eye witnesses who SAW Issei put those large, heavy suitcases on ground. when Issei left, someone opened the suitcases and found Hartevelts body. they immediately called the police and Issei Sagawa was arrested on July 17th, 1981.

and after all that, u think he'd be locked up for the rest of his life, right???? no, OF COURSE NOT ! they released him on sum dumb technicality. so he's free. writing books abt his life n experiences. oh n btw, he was almost arrested BEFORE what happened w Hartevelt. he had broken into a German womans apartment and tried to rape her. but bc his father was rich, he jus paid everyone off and he was let go. Hartevelts death was preventable. fuck Issei, i hope karma fucks him over.
