Elder Scrolls: Arena

This game aged worse than a broken marriage, if you want to give a shot to the very first game of the Elder Scrolls Series here are some tips to make it a little more bearable:

-Set the detail up to max at the menu when you start the game. It'll make you see the furthest away, but at the cost of framerate.

-In order to fix the framerate, browse the local files and then find the Arena.conf file that's in the DOSbox folder. Change it into a .txt file so that you can edit it,  and then find the part in the text where it says Cycles, next to the Cpu type and Core. Just change the number to 50000 by cycles, save and close, and make sure to turn the file back to a .conf

That'll make the game not amazing, but more playable. I'd recommend choosing Spellcaster class of some sort so you can learn the spell "Light" so that you can see what's going on.
