If you think web logging has gone the way of the dinosaurs, you'd be wrong. Now that Twitter allows for more characters, it's basically the new face of blogging. I mean, if you really think about it, Twitter is Tumblr at its core now. Reblogs and retweets are pretty much the same thing, aren't they?

Even back during the blogging era, people have always tried to stir up controversy on the Internet. We just never referred to it as cancel culture as that was just how wild west the Internet was and still is. I remember there being a few blogs on Xanga and LiveJournal that caused online riots not unlike the uproars that occurs on Twitter these days.

Still, blogging has its place on the Internet, whether it's writing out what you're feeling or expressing your personal hot takes on popular culture. It's not healthy, but it's not completely toxic either. Just how things go when you toss a few billion humans together on a space that allows freedom of expression.
