Okay, so I know the title on this one sounds a little sus, so I will open this blog by showing you all this horrible picture:
(Please excuse the hideousness, its morning, I have no make-up on and resting b!+ch face runs in my family.)
Yes, I am a real person, and this is a real thing, and it really works. The site is called PrizeRebel.com and it's a site where you get paid to take surveys and complete offers. What sets this site apart is most of the time, you see your points added immediately upon completion however, there are a few exceptions. And you actually can get paid in cash, not just gift cards.
I will also be the first to tell you that you're probably not going to get rich from doing this (another way to tell that I'm real). This is a side hustle. At best you might make the equivalent of someone working a part-time minimum wage job. My point is, don't go quitting your job and sign up thinking you're going to make a ton of money, realistically that's probably not going to happen.
So, what's so great about it then? Well, it's great if you have a little spare time and just want to make a few extra bucks. It's also great around birthdays and Christmas time if you have relatives that really like gift cards. (Seriously, this is a great tool for earning money for Christmas, did you know banks offer Holiday loans for people to use for Christmas shopping? This is a perfect way to get it done without doing that!)
Getting Started:
(PrizeRebel homepage)
- First, set up an alternate email address. Surveys and offers generate a lot of spam. Unless you want your main email address to be filled up with spam, it's a good idea to have an alternate email just for this purpose. Make sure that you favorite things from PrizeRebel though as many of their rewards are sent as codes through email.
- Next, if you intend to use this as a way to make cash, set up a PayPal account if you don't already have one. This is how PrizeRebel handles their cash rewards.
- Finally, click the link here to sign up on PrizeRebel using your alternate email address and start earning points.
It takes about 100 points to equal $1 and although you can set custom PayPal amounts, the minimum for quick prizes and gift cards is $5 (500 points).
There's more than one way to earn:
(PrizeRebel's offer wall)
While surveys are the fastest way to earn free points, they can get a little redundant. If you want a change of pace, check out the offer wall. The offer wall has some of the highest point rewards on the site, however for the things like, app installs, and donations, points will be revoked for quick cancellations and uninstalls. The donations become a recurring monthly charge, (I think a minimum of 3 months). The purchases are self-explanatory, my best advice here is if you're going to spend money on this, make sure it's for something that you're sincerely interested in. As for the no-cost offers, a word of caution, PrizeRebel will never sell your info, but their third-party partners might. Use your best judgement when browsing them.
(PrizeRebel's contests)
PrizeRebel holds contests and rewards those who earn the most points. There's really nothing extra to do here. Simply earn some points and you're automatically participating in whatever contests are going on. Get onto the leaderboard and you'll win extra points. Simple.
You can also enter raffles for prizes, it's typically 10 points per raffle ticket, or you can use your points to pick 4 numbers in "Lucky Numbers" (20 points a ticket) to try to win the point pot (it's like a kind of lottery).
(Custom Surveys sent to Inbox)
Once you've done a few surveys, PrizeRebel will begin sending notifications to your inbox about surveys that are tailored to you. Starting out can be slow as some companies are looking for a very specific demographic. These surveys sent to your email are based upon previous ones that you completed and were credited for thus being more likely to be a match.
Lastly, the prizes:
(This is just a few of them.)
The prize list on this site is probably the widest selection of prizes there are on any survey site on the web. You can find prepaid visa cards, gift cards for Amazon, Target, various restaurants, movies, gaming, home improvement, electronics, Sephora, clothing retailers, it's a long list. I will be honest; I don't really know how the PayPal one works. The last time I used this site, I spent my earnings on video games. The gift cards without codes are mailed, game cards or anything with a code though, they just email the code usually within 24 hours. I would imagine that PayPal is done electronically also, but for the sake of this blog, I will do an update once I can confirm that.
In the meantime, go check it out. The link again is PrizeRebel.com, go earn some points and get paid!
*Update* I went ahead and redeemed 500 of my points to test out how they handle PayPal rewards. On your account settings (located in the drop-down menu next to your name) you have to set your PayPal email and input your PrizeRebel password before you claim a PayPal reward.
As you can see, the 517 points that I had earlier are now down to 17 and my $5 in PayPal money is now in pending status. I have yet to receive the $5 into my PayPal account, but I will keep you all updated on how long it takes.
*Update 2* 8/13/22 - I checked on my Paypal account this morning to see if the $5 was deposited into my account and there it is:
So there it is, it's real and it really pays. Just follow any of the links in this blog and it will take you right there. You have to work at it just like any other job, but it's a good option when you just need that little extra. Best side hustle ever, best of luck guys, and thanks for taking the time to check it out.
