NOTE:Hi! im gonna start doing album reviews because why not ! leave albums for me to review in the comments, i would appreciate it hella :o) also this ones kind of lazy so i apologize for that,, im not feeling too good today
'Diamond Eyes' by Deftones is is their sixth album released and their first album without their Bassist Chi Cheng as he was hospitalized and later on died during the recording of this album. Deftones almost completely disbanded due to the loss of their beloved band member.
The first song on this album is honestly a great way to start off. Chino's voice on the opening song 'Diamond Eyes' has so much emotion and it gives me a heavy nostalgic feeling. This album goes from sad to euphoric to angry to literally the most climatic of the climax. While listening to this album, I genuinely struggle to find a favorite song, i fucking love every song on this album for completely different reasons. I feel like i'm floating whenever listen to any of the songs
The whole fantasy vibe that Deftones started to do has definitely helped me connect myself to the music and even create new meanings of songs as Chino wanted and this album (next to White Pony ofc) is deeply exploded with the whole fantasy shit and on top of that, its all full of pure emotion.
This album has a significant meaning to the band and the history regarding 'Diamond Eyes' makes this album honestly special to me as well. I don't know, this album has to honestly be my favorite by Deftones.
