mitski fans RISE (Trigger warning)

ok this is just my interpretation on the song "a pearl" ik im very late but whatever (this blog is gonna be a bit long so you can read this at your own time)

this song reminds me of trying to heal from trauma or bad relationships whether its with your parents, friends, partners etc.

"You're growing tired of me
You love me so hard and i still can't sleep
You're growing tired of me
And all the things I dont talk about"
that verse is about thinking "oh im annoying them" "im not giving them the same love back" and other stuff, this is about self doubt and feeling bad since they are accepting you and loving you but you cant do the same because of your past experiences

"Sorry I dont want your touch
Its not that I don't want you
Sorry I cant take your touch"
again this is about your past relationships affecting this current one

"Its just that I fell inlove with a war
And no one told me it ended"
for me this is more like finding comfort in the toxic relationship simpler explanation its basically stolkholm syndrome

"And it left a pearl in my head
And i roll it around every night
Just to watch it glow"
you can refer to the pearl as those bad memories and how its affecting your current relationship. the second and third line could mean that you are reflecting on what happened in the past and how you could have done something differently

"Theres a hole that you fill,
You fill, you fill"
it means that the current relationship you have is different from your past one, its more healthy and that your're slowing healing
and then its followed by the same line
"Its just that I fell inlove with a war
And no one told me it ended"
which could mean the process is taking a bit longer than normal and you're still trying to recover

this interpretation is just from my own personal experiences so if you have different interpretations pls tell me i would love to hear it :D
