Why I joined Spacehey

Hello everyone!

So, I haven't done anything like this since the old MySpace days. Being able to write a blog again on a social network is a breath of fresh air.

I joined Spacehey due to how bad current social media has become. Facebook is censoring people and preventing them from using site features over someone being butt hurt over an opinion (I'm not speaking from experience, this happened to multiple friends of mine), Instagram changed from being a photo social media app into a glorified capitalist machine (you can't grow on there anymore because if you're not with the forced reels program, you'll be shadowbanned and unseen, EVEN TO YOUR FOLLOWERS!), and we all know what happened to the original Myspace. Twitter on the other hand barely changed, but a lot of ignorance is running rampant there.

Another reason I joined Spacehey is due to how current Social Media changed how I was originally. I had no problem befriending new random people everyday on MySpace during those times because not only was it cool and exciting, but it was a networking tool as well. On Facebook it got to the point where I didn't accept random people, I was only accepting people I knew personally and people I went to school with instead, then it went downhill from there. Having access to THEIR daily thoughts was DAMAGING and them sharing other's negative thoughts was even more so!
