I Will talk about Patricia Taxxon's music and there's Nothing you can do to Stop Me

(note : I checked their twitter account and she uses she/they pronouns at the time I wrote this post - if that changed without me being aware, tell me and I'll update the post!)

I warned you all I was going to make a whole blog post dedicated to her music, so no excuses! here it is!!

As I mentioned in my video essays blog post (check it out I spent a lot of time and love on it ksajdhfksjf) I first discovered Patricia Taxxon through their Marbles retrospective video, so I had no idea she made music before looking through her channel. And boy was I in for a surprise.

Despite my sensory sensitivities, I love weird electronic music. The one that uses sounds you wouldn't normally hear in a song, the one that feels like it's actually being made inside your skull, the one that is loud and chaotic. One of my favorite (if not my absolute favorite) mix on youtube is a 30min Reizoko CJ mix (if you like breakcore, it's a banger). I also love artists like Goreshit, Machine Girl and Metaroom.
So to me, Patricia Taxxon's discography was a goldmine!

With absolutely no transitions because I lack inspiration, here are my favorite album of hers!!

Walks of Lung
51min - 10 tracks
Lots and lots of good Noises. The lyric/rap parts are my least favorite in this album, but after a few listens I learned to appreciate them! The Bad Apple vocaloid cover is an absolute banger. It's both chill and makes me feel very powerful at the same time.
favorite tracks : Squarefall, Bad Apple

Gloria
30min - 7 tracks
I want to talk about the art first, because it's what drove me to click on the video. It's by Casinovision, an artist I find fascinating, as I both love and feel unsettled by their art (fun fact : the character is, or at least references, catboy Jerma - it's a recurring theme in their art!)
Filled to the brim with good Noises. Blunderbuss was the first track I heard and I'm still obsessed with it. The marble making ricochets in my skull, the fizzling muted sound that I can feel in the back of throat and makes me feel like I'm actually eating pop rocks, the rest of the noises blending with and cutting each other, It's absolutely insane and I love it. The rest of the album takes you by surprise by alternating noise parts and lyrical parts that remind me of SOPHIE's music. And to finish it up, in the end of Girls, you can hear Patricia's voice, with little to no modifications. I love it, it reminds me of the voice of someone I appreciate a lot.
Not the most accessible of their albums, but definitely my favorite.
favorite tracks : Blunderbuss, Girls

Xanthan Gun
28min - 7 tracks
Some sick instrumentals! The word that come up in my mind when thinking about this album is "floaty", like some sort of OST of a cloud dimension, or some sort of chill rave party. And don't even get me started on the slashing sound in Flowing, Pulsing. This song makes me melt in its soft violence. I think the album art speaks a lot to me on a personal level - I have a phobia of insects and insect-like creatures, and yet I find butterflies and moths to be beautiful. And just like them, this album intimidates me, and yet I find it oh so pretty. Like in the track Girls in the album Gloria, you can hear Patricia's unedited voice in both Baseball and By the Books, and it makes me happy.
In my opinion the most accessible album of the ones I listened to, but it doesn't make it any less interesting.
favorite tracks : Xanthan Gun, Flowing,Pulsing
