MCR was formed in 2001 by Gerard Way and his brother Mikey Way, their first ever song was Skylines and Turnstiles, made in 2002. Ray Toro joined MCR in 2001 and Frank Iero joined in 2002. Gerard Way is the lead vocalist in MCR, Ray Toro is the lead guitarist, Mikey Way being the lead bassist in the band, and last but not least, Frank Iero is the rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist. 2 past members in MCR being Bob Bryar and Matt Pelissier. Both of those men were drummers. I'm Not Okay (I Promise) being the 5th and most popular song, I'm Not Okay was released to radio on September 28, 2004. The song reached number 86 on US Billboard 'hot 100s' and, in March 2005, I'm Not Okay reached #19 on the UK Singles Chart. The song helped MCR get more popular and was nominated for Kerrang! Award for Best Single. House of Wolves is the 7th track on My Chemical Romance's 2007 album, The Black Parade. This song's meaning is a patient wondering if he's going to heaven or hell when he dies. Teenagers is the fourth and final track on the album, The Black Parade. Gerard had said that the meaning behind this song is when he was in a New York City Subway car full of high schoolers. Gerard felt old and targeted, he felt like he had "become a parental figure" or apart of the problem. This song is important because it's a song about school shootings and the problem in America.
