i remember as a kid/teenager i’d always see people saying things like “i remember when i was younger i always said i couldn’t wait to grow up, now i’ve grown up and i wish i could go back!” or something similar and now here i am, laying in bed after a 9hr shift, it’s 6am, i’m listening to video game OSTs to help myself sleep and i’m just wishing i could go back to my childhood. i can never find the words to describe how bittersweet it is to grow up. i wish i could tell my younger self to slow down, to enjoy everything, to take it all in, and make the right choices (i did as i got older, i learned to appreciate the little things early on in life) and most of all to love themself. it’s weird how it all works. aging is inevitable as is change. the harder we try to deny it, the more it hurts. that’s the funny thing about life.
