AJ's Weekly Album Rec's 7/20/22

Continuing with my weekly album recommendations, this one is a bit different than the last.

7/20/22 God's Hate by God's Hate

This self-titled album has quickly becoming one of my favorite hardcore albums ever. With great vocals, a diverse sound, heavy guitars, and provocative lyrics, it's easy to see how good this album is if you're into Punk/Thrash/Hardcore. The band is fairly local to me being from Van Nuys, California and proud of it. They manage to deliver a fresh take on a classic hardcore sound and constantly keep the energy high. Brody King's vocals are really stand out as there is never as song where his vocals seemed toned down or losing emotion; every track is packed to the brim with style and feeling without all sounding too similar to each other. If that name sounds familiar, God's Hate's Brody King is also Brody King from All Elite Wrestling

And while I'm not too familiar with King's work in the ring, it's clear he wears his passion (and his violence) on his sleeves, or lack their of. As you may have expected the album's subject matter is fairly political (as all good hardcore is) and the lyrics primarily tackle issues with religion, the government, and violence.

This album is incredibly solid and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone interested in Metal, Punk, and Hardcore; especially the Southern California scene.
