autistic autistically ranting about autism

(this is my personal experience. autism is a spectrum and i dont speak for every autistic person im just high + angry)

i hate when people act like being autistic is a hidden superpower. like its just a treatable mental illness that can go away, that will get better over time.

it isnt! it is not a hidden superpower and it doesnt just go away. if youre autistic you will be autistic until you die and theres nothing you can do to change that or fix that. no therapy will cure you of ur autism or "fix you". autism is a disability. its true you can see therapy to help make things easier to cope with or living with autism easier, but it'll never be that easy. being autistic is like being forced into a race with a ball and chain on ur leg. you can live a normal life and do anything allistics can do, but it'll always be harder. theres physically nothing you can do to stop it. i hate how autism gets seen as this quirky thing by allistics. like its just this thing that makes people a little funnier and know a lot about sea animals hardy har har. but its never easy for people with autism. they will never understand being completely outcasted as a child but never understanding it. they'll never understand not understanding basic concepts, sayings, and words. they wont understand crying because you jsut want to be normal and you cant give the people around you a better you. you can never fix yourself and its just it. sure, you might be able to dissect people in a way other people couldn't. or notice things in movies that other people cant. perfectly mock somebody, predict how to respond to people and what they'll do, but you'll never be good enough. you will always be autistic. you will always be different.

no matter how hard you try, no matter how hard you work, you will always be autistic. you will never be normal. and that hurts. you wont ever be able to be the perfect child your parents wanted. you will always be the autistic child. your parents will always be the unfortunate autism parents who had to work harder just to raise you. you will always be seen as this evil being who ruins lives of the people around you and ruined your family and your parents and your friends. you can and never be normal. youll never escape those stereotypes no matter how progressive as a society we are.
