Hi! I'm thinking of starting a daily album recommendation for the foreseeable future. Feedback is always appreciated!
7/11/22 No New World by MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS
While the band's name might remind you of an American Thrash metal band, they are a Japanese band with a style much closer to alt rock with influences from shoegaze, punk, indie, and pop. Every song is bursting with energy and it's impossible not to at least tap your foot. While I don't speak a word of Japanese it doesn't diminish my love of the album and the band. I feel like good music transcends barriers; language, geography, everything. And this is album is no exception. Natsuko Miyamoto's voice has this beautiful sort of melancholy quality to it that makes a contrast to the fast guitar heavy sounds of the other members.
I'd recommend this band to anyone who enjoys shoegaze, J-Rock, and indie rock.
