Let's start back with the basics

I am, once again, attempting to build a functioning schedule that works for me. It's been a few months since I said fuck it, but now I'm back to where I wake up and don't know wtf to do until it's time to shower and get ready for work.

The main problem is that I keep trying to make a schedule as if I'm going to get up before my kids, as well as that my youngest refuses to go to sleep before me. I might just have to start putting her in my bed and acting like I'm going to sleep as soon as I get home from work, then transfer her to her own bed once she falls asleep. She really needs a proper bedtime routine. My nana usually already has her bathed and in pajamas when they pick me up, so when we get home we should go to her bathroom
- brush our teeth
- wash our faces
- moisturize(can't hurt to teach them about proper skin care young)
- brush our hair
From there, we could sit on the swing on the porch with a cozy blanket, and I could start reading whatever I'm currently reading out loud to her.
So, there's a start, because I know I can't do a ton with my schedule without her being on some type of routine herself. I also need to be, and haven't been, doing all of these before bed anyway. Once I get her on a proper night time routine, I might even find time for myself to take a shower/bath before bed as well. And everyone who knows me knows how much I miss my 2-3 showers a day, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves here.
That gets nights, for when I'm working and off, out of the way:
- come home
- teeth, face, moisturizer, and hair
- read Willow to sleep
- smoke
- dinner
- shower/bath(granted I have extra time)
-bed
Another thing that would probably help would be to not become overly obsessed with having specific times for everything, but to focus more on having a general timeframe. i.e. when I get home from work, or a specific start time on my days off. Compared to having a specific times for each individual task.
As for mornings, I haven't been setting an alarm, and I don't think I'm going to while I don't have to. I just got myself a nice 70oz water bottle that came with a koozie with a carrying strap, so I've been keeping that on my nightstand and with me during the day. So I can start the day with some water. Especially since I've gotten into the bad habit of excessively vaping before bed(and throughout most of the day, but I'm trying to work on that).
I'd like to reimplement my morning routine from when I was a young child before I started school:
- wake up and hydrate(added)
- make bed
- sit on edge of bed and think(meditate/write)
- basic stretches
From there, breakfast would be the most obvious choice of what should come next, but that also comes with its own issues of what to do. I have a list I've made of breakfast ideas should I decide to switch things up, but I think for now it'd be easiest(and waste the least amount of groceries) to stick with something basic like: sausage, boiled eggs, toast with butter and preserves, and milk and/or orange juice. Then a cup of coffee sometime from 11am-1pm.
As for the rest of the day, it would probably be best to break hobbies and other activities into specific days of the week for specific hobbies, activities, cleaning, etc. but I think I'll make a separate post figuring that out later.
Until next time, let's see that I can (at least) do this.
