My review of Sonic Origins as someone who owns the games like four times

I think it's a great collection, the museum content is huge, missions are fun, it's awesome to have a modern port of sonic cd and it's great that Sonic 3 & Knuckles has been actually acknowledged.

Now the elephant in the room I guess is Sonic 3's music changing due to rights and stuff with MJ's work. I'm ok with the changing of the tracks barre launchbase zone because that track just isn't that great. That aside, ice cap's substitute is a good track but the original is too good. Speaking of the original, Michael didn't compose any of it. It was composed by Brad Buxer and recorded as a song called "Hard Times" by the Jetzons, and Michael did not change the composition. I'd be surprised if he actually had the rights to the recording and if not, they could have kept it the same. Michael's team worked on Marble Garden, and Black or White took the form of Azure Lake, so why ice cap?

There's some physics bugs but there's going to be I guess, the games just came out. The only real annoyance is that rolling into a tight space will kill you even if it's too low for you to actually fit inside it which doesn't make sense.

Anniversary mode is a cool idea, 16;9 is nice and it's a cool concept to have infinite lives and replace lives with coins to be used on art and things, but this removes most of the challenge of the original games so classic mode was added which is just the original. Now, I'm just a little annoyed that they didn't bother adding 16:9 to classic mode at all. It would be nice to play the real game wit real difficulty without the borders, but the game has always been 4:3 so it's hardly a real issue 

Only other ick is just how hard the sonic 2 challenges get compared to the other games challenges.

Great collection though worth it
