A BIT ABOUT ME AND MY MUSIC

Hi, I am aux animaux, a hauntwave artist based in Stockholm, Sweden, who started working on this music project at the end of 2015. My songs draw inspiration from the 80s dark wave and goth bands, as well as occultism and horror movies.

I was born and raised in Istanbul. I'm a self-taught musician that worked as a professional bass guitarist for several years up until moving to Sweden almost 14 years ago. With aux animaux, on stage I sing as well as alternating between theremin and bass guitar. The theremin, which I consider to be my source of sorcery, is the only instrument that is played without actually touching.

I released my first songs in 2017. I have been touring both in Sweden and rest of Europe, opening for artist, such as She Past Away, Hante., Algiers, Then Comes Silence, Then Comes Silence among others. 

My debut EP Black Holes had more politically loaded songs that were about animal rights, feminism, criticising the society, whereas the sophomore EP Stockholms Synthrome combines this approach with a more personal one, among others narrating my decade long struggle with misophonia. In the fall of 2021 I released a single called Haunted that she co-produced with the Swedish dark wave band abu nein. 

In March 2022 I released my latest EP "The Hydesville Episode", which differs from my previous music. 6 track EP consists of songs that could be soundtrack to a horror movie. For the first time I not only recorded, but also produced and also mixed all tracks completely by myself. The EP was mastered by Doruk from She Past Away.
