So first I searched my playlist for songs with the word "summer" in the title, then I searched for songs with "sun" in the title because I associate summer with sunshine, and that's how I like my summers. I then threw in a few songs that are tied to specific summer memories, and I narrowed it down.
I just realized that I started with Alan Doyle again, just like the other time we had a playlist that wasn't themed to an era, but I'm not apologizing for that :-P
Most of the songs are kind of self-explanatory as to why I included them. As for the ones that aren't:
Surfin' USA - it's a summer playlist, I had to include the Beach Boys.
Hannah Jane - Cracked Rear View is probably one of my all time favorite albums to listen to all the way through, I have very strong associations with that album and the late summer of 1995 (see DLTDGB #49), and Hannah Jane is probably my favorite song from that album that wasn't a big hit, so it deserves to be heard.
Let Your Troubles Roll By - the album was called Indian Summer, and it is also one of my favorite albums to listen to all the way through.
Walk On The Ocean - I wanted to have Toad in there somewhere, and walking on the ocean is something I associate with summer

29 - I spent the summer of 2005 traveling, and I turned 29 on that road trip; the song was already over a decade old by then, but it just seemed to fit with that memory.
