random dump of music thoughts; there are some instances in which i've only listened to one album of an artist, and i REALLY like that album, but i still hold off on saying that i like the artist. because there's only so much you can gain from a single project, right? just to list an example or two, i thought white pony by deftones was great! i never liked you by future was one of the better records this year, and mm...food by mf doom is a classic i 100% appreciate. i recognize that there's a lot more to these artists than the one project i've heard from them though, even though i REALLY do like those projects!! and it's just like ghgufhg you know... i should really get around to listening to more albums soon cause i've kinda been slacking recently
metallica is one of my favorite bands and i think the 4-run album of ride the lightning, master of puppets, ...and justice for all and their self-titled is one of the best album runs EVER, though i've heard how awful saint anger is so i'm kind of scared to venture off there LMAO. i've gotten as far as load and i felt it was very mediocre, though i've heard from a friend that reload is better, so i'll get there soon
mr. morale & the big steppers is so easily the best project this year, god fuck. i love that album SO much. i wanna say that pusha t's it's almost dry is a pretty good contender for second, though there's still more i need to hear and all... dreaming of the past and rock n roll are both spectacular songs, the production on it's almost dry as a whole is so great. regarding releases this year donda 2 is still such a disappoint to me (especially as a mega kanye fan) and i've kinda just pushed it out of my memory. it's not REAL.
remble is a super good underground rapper and i loved his debut album, he's got a pretty quirky rapping style but as goofy as it is, it kinda slaps too and the production is genuinely really good. i also listened to nice colors by khai dreams and atwood at the recommendation of a friend, and i gotta say i REALLY feel like i was missing out this whole time... i love the whole rap subgenre of soundcloud rappers spitting fast on funky hip hop beats and just having the time of their lives LOL. speaking of lesser known stuff, i thought metacontinues by frums was a very nice EP (infinityyy is DEFINITELY the standout song though, like holy shit) and deathmetal by panchiko is one of my favorite albums i've listened to in recent time. i love the album cover, the genre of music, the concept and execution of the rot tracks- everything in it feels so wonderfully done. kicking cars is probably my favorite song but i also like the title track and the rot tracks too :)! lonely vibes by josh a is definitely an underappreciated record from last year and i would 100% recommend giving that thing a shot, it's undoubtedly his best produced record to date and really feels like josh at his peak game. it just feels professional..
music is just so fucking cool to me dude. i love rambling on about music... i love how artists are able to make timeless pieces that live on forever in the expression of this art form. i love acknowledging that there will ALWAYS be more musicians, more people that come and go, in love of the art that music has to offer... it brings out so much power, so much emotion and feeling out of a person. and the way that the artist expresses those things, it could potentially last forever, always being heard and listened to by other people. it's just so strong, idek man!! i seriously can't wait to find new artists and indulge myself in what they've made... sometimes it makes me sad that there are certain genres or sounds that i just can't get into, because it makes me feel like i'll never be able to appreciate what the artist has made. i sure can try my best though... aahghhh i love music
