it's no surprise that a lot of people hates kpop as a genre, but why tho? most of the time, when you ask someone who hates kpop why they hate so much their answer might be one of the following :
- "i don't like kpop stans, they're annoying"
- "kpop music is repetitive and annoying"
- "it's just not my style, i can't find a song i like"
now while very valid, i think that there's a solution for all these statements above.
1. while, yes, there are a lot of the more "toxic" kpop stans, there are also a lot of good ones. yet these bad fans are what are more known to be kpop fans. i think a way to avoid this is to completely ignore kpop stan twt (i'm in kpop stan twt btw, in the better parts at least)
2. kpop is a whole genre that mixes multiple genres, groups like loona and twice make completely different sounding music. besides the title tracks there are also b-sides in each album that can have a different theme [ ex. alcohol free by twice is the title track for taste of love ; b-sides are baby blue love, first time, sos, scandal, etc.]Â
3. there's a lot of options in kpop, ranging from seventeen to akmu there are different artists that might have at least one song you'd enjoy (you can ask me for recommendations!!!) sometimes you just have to dive deeper to see the better parts
there r more groups and soloists than bts and blackpink and other well known kpop artists globally, groups like mamamoo, monsta x and soloists like sunmi and hyuna exist and create music :)Â
