Weekly Diary Entry #1

 This week also happened to be the week of my birthday. I decided to treat myself and purchase the gear of my dreams... the Roland MC-909! If you don't know what that is, it's an oldschool groovebox that was highly sought after in 2002. Many people have compared it to the MC-505, but the 909 tends to have less bugs. I was incredibly lucky to find a like-new 909 with a functioning screen, only 10 MILES AWAY FROM ME! I have been absolutely in love with it ever since. 

 As you can see, the MC-909 has a very blocky, sleek appearance. I love the colour choice (grey is my favourite colour) and the factory sounds are as nostalgic as ever. If you don't know much about grooveboxes, think of the MC-909 as an all in one machine, complete with drums and a synthesiser (or FL studio in box form lol!) 

 I have watched several films this week. I watched The Joker (lol,) Taxi Driver (definitely one of my new favourites,) Falling Down, and Top Gun : Maverick. I was so excited about Maverick's release.. Top Gun is one of my top three favourite films and I'd been following everything about Maverick since it was released. I think Maverick paid a nostalgic homage to the original movie and I absolutely loved the dogfight scenes. Technology has improved so much since the first film, so the camera shots were enthralling and very realistic. I still prefer the first film though, nothing can beat Faltermeyer's soundtrack. 

 Towards the end of the week, I came down with some pretty heavy sickness. I do believe that it was stress related, but I fainted for about two minutes in the hospital before nurses could revive me. I am very worried about my decline in health but so thankful that I've finally gotten to see a specialist and get several important blood tests taken. I am currently waiting for my results, but have gotten progressively sicker each day. I have had to take two days off of work and am expecting to take one more day off.. but like hell I'll let myself a day more. I am obsessed with making money.
