Prehistoric Planet Episode 5

So sad that this is the end!!! I hope there are more seasons with the same amount of love put into them. Do 5 episodes of the Early Cretaceous. Then another 5 for the Late Jurassic. Another 5 for the Mid-Jurassic. Another 5 for the Early Jurassic. Another 5 for the Late Triassic.

I don't know how this episode ranks on my list, but I'll say that this episode of the cutest episode out of the 5. All the baby dinosaurs look so cute. The Carno's dance was cute. The baby Zalmoxes were so cu--OH GOD! It's so nice that the show is just trying to show animals just trying to live. I imagine the next generation that grew up watching this will look back on this as fondly as they did with WWD and Prehistoric Park. Though I personally think Planet Dinosaur and Dinosaur Revolution are very underrated.

I'm so glad I got my wish with the final episode, and that's to have the show end without talking about the extinction. It is important, but it's also been talked to death. Not to mention there was an extinction documentary a few weeks before this aired. This episode also granted my wish of seeing the Therizinosaurus even if it was a nighttime scene. It was still great. The babies were so cute. I think the only thing missing is a scene of tyrannosaur facial biting behavior. Oh well, it's not the end of the world.

Speaking of tyrannosaurs, even though T.rex didn't take up much screen time, every single episode had a tyrannosaurid of some kind in it. It's so nice to have other tyrannosaurids share some of the spotlights.

I also love that even though it's CG, the show still tries to make it seem real by doing things like speeding up the camera for fast shots, using night vision to film the cave scenes, etc. It just adds so much to the realism.

I really hope this series does well enough for other companies to see that there's a market for shows like this. We don't need one every year, but every few years wouldn't hurt. It would help them keep up with the latest research and tell new stories based on new finds.
