I can't believe we're already at the second to the last episode of Prehistoric Planet!!! We need MORE!!!
Man, I wish I could stop talking about this point, but what made this
episode so great is due to it being more focused on its' setting. Most
of the episode was focused on North America, so seeing some of the
creatures in the episode cross paths adds so much to it.
I know everybody loved the Velociraptor hunt in the previous episode, but I think this episode tops that with the Troodon -- or should we say Stenonychosaurus -- and Nanuqsaurus hunt scenes. Whether it's the animation or the believably. This is animal locomotion and behavior completely animated by human hands. You take a time machine and travel back to the 80s and show people this, they would believe someone traveled back in time to film this wildlife documentary!
Oh and for people wanting to see mammals, there you go, you have your mammal in this series. Interestingly enough, this is the only episode without any Pterosaurs. The entire episode was 100% dinosaur focused.
I'm also trying to think back on any dinosaur documentary and I don't remember any of them focusing any time on ankylosaurs. I know there was a brief scene in Dinosaur Revolution, but that was it. So an extended segment on Antarctopelta was very welcomed!
One more episode to go. I honestly hope they don't waste their time
talking about the extinction event. I know it's an important event in
the history of the world, but I rather they spend more time showing more
creatures and how they live their life. So far the preview doesn't hint
at talking about the extinction, so that's good.
