Ok but actually maybe, shut up? Woahhh look how easy that is baby blue

Neopronouns are not mocking the LGBTQ+ community.. sure some might not make much sense but it’s reason is for people to be comfortable in their own skin and develop how they feel about their gender

Being Demi and pansexual makes me difference, what’s the reason in saying that lmao. I’m agender and pan and support neopronouns and genders

But that makes no difference

Sure they can be a little weird, but if it makes someone more comfortable you should respect that and use them :)

my best friend uses xenopronouns and is cat gender, i know purr uses them not to mock the lgbtq comunity, but because it genually makes them happy and that gender accurately expresses purrs identity. i knoww pur really wwell and i dont think theyd ever mock the lgbtq community for the sake of their pleasure.

i see wwhere your comein from with the wwhole dreamgender people but the difference is that you cant identify as a acatual seprate person and wwas created for the purpose of making fun of xenogenders. but xenogenders are somethin that make people happy and was made for the purpose of self expression. besides whos it hurtin?

If you're a part of the community you should try to educate yourself on why this stance is just not correct. You can think they’re weird or whatever, but really, why do you care? If someone tells you their pronouns, just use them, it's not hard to not be rude.

You're not going to solve transphobia by being against pansexuals

by Ms Myspace; ; Report

babe identifying as pansexual is transphobic within itself

by { REDACTED }; ; Report

Some pansexuals can be transphobic, but being pan isn't inherently transphobic. We've got bigger issues in the community without picking fights with other queer people for their identity

by Ms Myspace; ; Report

being pan erases bi and trans history please look into it im grounded rn so all i have is a school chromebook rn or else id site sources but the majority defense for pansexual people is that they like boy girls and trans people which means you see trans people seperate from their identity and erases bi history as bi has always included trans people

by { REDACTED }; ; Report

being pan within itself is transphobic if you are pan you are transphobic period

by { REDACTED }; ; Report

I don’t understand how being pan is transphobic still… pan means all, all genders, someone can be pan and not be transphobic….it dosent add up

by Xoxo Gloomy 💋; ; Report

I just don't have any gender preference and I like highlighting that, it's what I'm comfortable with. Pan is just more specific and I like that

by fairycake444 ౨ৎ⋆˚。⋆; ; Report

i identify as pansexual and genderfluid. my interpretation of pansexuality is that gender is not a factor in my attraction to someone. idk how that's transphobic because i can say for sure that i am not..

If you want to learn history, here you go:
https://medium.com/@koryxx/pansexual-history-a-timeline-b10101048e2d
If you prefer Carrds there's also this:
https://historyofpansexuality.carrd.co/

There are transphobic parts of its history, but there are for several queer labels. Are we going to blame every lesbian for TERFs? Or every bisexual for transphobic and nonbinary-exclusionary rhetoric that once existed? I still remember being queer on the internet and seeing bisexuals *themselves* saying that they didn't want to date transgender people. There's no completely wholesome community and it's important to recognize it, move on, and not grill everyone who uses a certain label as being a transphobe.

We've got governments trying to restrict transgender healthcare and passing laws to absolutely fuck over transgender kids and adults, and you're going to act like pansexuals are the problem?

I feel like neopronouns are such an american/internet thing, but I don't think it's mocking the lgbtq+ community at all. Like irl, and in my mother's tongue I can realistically only use he/she/they. If I use anything else it sounds very weird/not grammatically correct??
Imo, pronouns are supposed to be a short and easy way to refer to people in case you don't know their name or don't want to repeat their name many times in a sentence.
But again, it's not hurting anyone. I guess some people can find it annoying or weird, but that's it, if a person asks me "can you pls use x pronouns for me" what am I gonna say "no fuck you"??? like that would be dumb, so let's just respect it.

Also I read something interesting in this comment section about neurodivergent kids who use special neopronouns, as some of them can actually percieve and feel things very differently from a neurodivergent kid, which can also be a possibility!!! So because there can be kids on this website as well, be careful with your words.

I'm still learning about all this too and I really like to read everyone's pov on this subject!!!

I actually know a lot about this so...

neopronouns have been used by queer people, writers, and a lot of people for centuries! Ou has been used since 1789, thon since 1858, hir since the 1920s, and co since 1970 and all of those were made to fill the lexical gap of not having a true gender neutral pronouns in English.

they also weren't made to mock the LGBT+ community, they are either used by actual queer people, or by people who need to fill this gap for whatever reasons (writing nonbinary characters can be very tricky with they I've noticed). Or there are also people who are otherkin or have similar abnormal identities who want to express that with their pronouns, using different pronouns isn't exclusive to queer or for reasons of being queer!

while yeah there is the singular they, it can get extremely confusing especially when you need to distinguish between referencing multiple people or singular, I'm in a system which regularly encounters this issue and also runs into it when trying to write nonbinary characters. for a lot of queer people this can also be a way of self expression when binary pronouns don't fit but "they" doesn't feel right either.

that's actually why our system uses bu/buzz pronouns, they're weird yeah but when you're in a system it's handy to have a pronoun to distinguish from plural they and because we're an insect therian it strikes euphoria on a lot of levels. a lot of people we know like it pronouns for similar reasons, but we only like it/its when used by people we really trust.

im a trans guy heres my take

tbh this is a very tiktok take. most people here on spacehey dont really give a shit. this isnt tiktok, theres no right or wrong side to be on, and most people fall into a grey area

i held tjis opinion before too, but ive changed my stance for a couple of reasons.
mostly because it really isnt worth caring
one thing i would like to say is that they are not made to mock trans people. i see the argument a lot that they were made to mock trans people and they cause transphobia.
transphobic people will be transphobic whether or not someone uses neopronouns. anyone discriminating against trans people for neopronouns already held transphobic values. no one just *turns* transphobic the second they see meow/meowself in someones bio.

many neopronouns users are just neorodivergent kids who interpret gender differently. transphobes have used neopronouns to mock trans people, but thats not the fault of neopronouns users, theyre also being mocked in that situation

honestly i dont see the point to trying to be anti something thats so harmless. neopronoun users arent really hurting anyone. its not worth the effort to fight them. if someones wants to be called kit or wutever ill just call em kit. theres really no reason to fight it. it doesnt take much effort to respect and if thats what makes them comfortable then ill just go with it.

hey! kindly piss off! neo-pronouns have existed pre-internet, they were prominent and existed in the pre-internet queer community! and if you don't like people being comfortable in themselves by using something other than the common "she/her, he/him, or they/them" then fuck you!!

also, there are much more FUCKING DIRE threats to the lgbtqia+ community than neopronoun users you dolt... like, hey, MAPS? Zoos? TERFS? Racism? Why don't you make a blog entry relating to something that should actually be addressed in our community then putting down groups of people that you find weird you dickhead.

Also, "neo-pronouns are mocking our community" wanna know what's funny? In a way, YOU ARE MOCKING YOUR OWN COMMUNITY and so are the people in this comment section putting down neopronoun users!! Like??? You sound like a cishet bootlicker.

The only neopronouns I'll use are ze/zer ,ze/zer and if we're pushing it then it/itself ,I'm not calling you kitten bc that term is highly sexualized and it makes me uncomfortable. I either won't interact or if that person uses other pronouns then I'll use those

I've never heard this before, the earliest neopronouns seemed to have mostly been used by people in government or writers who needed a neutral pronoun, or just to fill the general lexical gap. I could see that a bit more with nounself pronouns, but I've seen that claimed more about otherkin and from what the bigger part of my system remembers it was mostly nonhumans (could be wrong though)

by irl sparkle bug; ; Report

i'm not too sure but from what i've heard from my alter who uses neos is they mostly for neurodivergent people specifically those with autism. I have autism so i think it makes sense. i feel like if you're anti-neos you're just an ableist./srs

by Gone; ; Report

please don't use tone tags for us, they really, really don't work and make things a lot harder for us

also I've never heard that, I covered the history in my own post but my system was actually around in the nonbinary community when neopronouns were a lot more popularized and it was really just a way for self expression, not even now while people might use them for being neurodivergent I feel like we see general expression used as a reason a lot more

I also know a lot of disabled people who struggle with neopronouns, which may be good to note? esp people with developmental or learning disabilities

by irl sparkle bug; ; Report

idk i've only seen neurodivergent people use neos and i've heard they are specifically for neurodivergent people.

by Gone; ; Report

huh that's really weird, I've never seen that claimed before

I made a separate comment on this blog entry where I talk about the history and reason people might use neopronouns with sources, maybe that would be a good idea to read?
