I don't have a true best friend
they all say I'm theirs
but that's not true
it's only one side

I've been here for long enough to know
pain is my only friend here
everything else leaves
but never pain
pain never leaves
pain is my best friend and my one true love
pain is my wife
pain is my master
pain is my harem
pain is my consortΒ
pain is all I have at the end of the show
just meΒ
never alone
one can never be alone when pain is their best friend
I never run
never hideΒ
because pain is all I know
and pain is my only friendΒ
in this one man show
fear sits to my left
not a friend
not a foe
merely watching
waiting
sometimes it talk to me
and then I listen
fear is pains master
and therefore mine too
but it doesn't like to talk
only whispers
sitting on my tounge
as fear sits to the left
and pain to the left
and here I amΒ
in the middle
not truly alone
never
because pain is my friend
and fear is its master
