writing, creativity, the meaning of blog

i think, though, what im really taken by in the context of the prior popularity of sites like myspace, wordpress, formspring, or blogger, is the desire that people had to just put their thoughts out into the universe, thoughts that have been condensed into smaller and smaller bite size pieces by algorithms and character limits and 'tl;dr' culture. ive been seeing more sites like this and nostalgia for 'old web' style communities and personal blogs popping up though, even being linked directly from peoples more instant-gratiication accounts like twitter or tiktok, it will be interesting to see what will be deemed 'consumable' in the next few years of the internet, whether silicon valley will ever see these features as somehow profitable, or twist them in to some delightfully consumable horror
