one-hit wonders

something about the 2000s in particular just improves the music somehow or makes it better. it's always such good stuff- really catchy and enjoyable, at least for me.

i love artists like vanessa carlton or blu cantrell and people like that who have these really good first albums but maybe the latter ones weren’t as good so they couldn’t hold onto fame. lots of one hit wonders now are mostly songs that aren’t that good and are things like tiktok memes but these are really really nice!

even so, one-hit wonders are a strange phenomenon. like you get a big big hit song, but somehow you can't replicate the fame and BOOM fade into obscurity. it's kind of astonishing how that happens
