This song reminds me of the girls that feel like the second option. This Song is by definition the song of hopeless romantics. I believe that “The Other Woman” represents the girls who are pretty enough to flirt with and ask for nudes but somehow not pretty enough to date. When a man gives a woman a flower, this acts as a way of telling them they are beautiful through actions. ”The Other woman keeps fresh cut flowers in each room" with this lyric With each man giving the Other Woman flower she displaces them to remind herself that she is beautiful because she has never had someone to hold and remind her that. The Lyric ”And when her old man comes to call, He finds her waiting like a lonesome queen” leads me to believe that “The Other Woman” has objectified herself in hopes that she can gain the man's love and is always waiting for the chance to steal The Man’s love. The name “The Other Woman” is a term that means: The lover of a married or similarly attached man. As well, in the lyrics “The other woman has time to manicure her nails” and “ The Other woman is perfect where her rival fails” I believe that she spends her time in hopes that she will become a better choice for the Man instead of her “Rival” (Man's wife or significant other). "But the other woman will always cry herself to sleep, the Other Woman will never have his love to keep” this lyric leads me to believe that The Other Woman is stuck in a deep depression and obsession with the Man and the fact that she will never be able to gain the same slided affection. "Cause to be by her side It's such a change from old routine" This verse leads me to believe that she will never be in the comfort of the man's arms, no matter how much she tries to out do her rival.
