One of the weirdest but most worthwhile things i've done on the internet in a while is entirely change how i interact with it. Considering how big the yesterweb group is on here i'm not the only one but its definitely feels nice to take back control of both how i use the web, how my corners of the web look and run, and what i do with my data even if its somewhat minor in the grand scheme of things. Learning html was legitimately one of the most useful things I've learned in a while and in my attempt to escape the clutches of google I've found a lot of really amazing web services and projects which i like a lot. Shit like XMPP, Disroot, Fediverse, neocities, even Gemini which i'm in the process of getting on are all genuinely good services that i feel safer and more in control when using. Cool shit. Learning seemingly basic cyber security stuff despite using the internet all the time for almost a decade now is wild but not surprising. They don't seem to actually teach younger folks a lot of that if you aren't in a compsci class.
I don't know, this is just my disorganized thought bubble for the day. Ill probably write something more comprehensible on this later so for now its going in blogging. See yall later.
