cranky about AMVs these days

This new AMV (or any other MV for that matter) format people use these days just sucks so much! I'm talking the short videos that don't last even hald a minute. Some even don't last ten seconds. And most of them are actually shorter, the edited portion just loops a few times while the song plays. With those swooping transitions that barely let's you see the character's face.

I understand that this is most likely the Instagram/TikTok/Twitter kinda style, but understanding doesn't make me feel less pissed! When I look up AMVs of my favorite characters on YouTube I wanna see 3+ minute videos that are either matching the lyrics of the whole song and therefore explore the character or mash together some fight scenes with an irrelevant rock song overlayed.

I swear the vids where people copy-pasted whole uncut fighting sequences and slapped Linkin Park on top of that were better than this whole loopty-loop trend that's everywhere now.

Not that people don't put a lot of effort into these, they DO, and that's even more frustrating like why not make a Big Thing and have more than 10 seconds of fun and love for the source instead...

Sigh.
