I listen to a lot of music and enjoy a wide range of musical genres. I attribute that to my father, who always loved music. When we got cable in 1982, it was amazing for him. That's where we first were introduced to MTv, and he loved to "discover" new bands. His musical taste were wider than mine, and he definitely took an interest if they were not widely known. He had a very large vinyl record collection, and although mine is no where near that, I have the same bug - and my wife doesn't like that.
So being a fan of music, I listen to a lot and welcome recommendations to new artists. Two of my now favorites came from my friend Tim a couple of years ago - BabyMetal & Snotty Nose Rez Kids. My old college roommate, Shaker, just turned me on to Wet Leg, and I've been listening frequently. There are other new bands that I have discovered one way or another, and I have enjoyed it. But I have never listened to something and consciously thought to myself, "Dad you have liked this." But tonight, listening to this song and came into my head. I'ts a little weird, but listening to the song again and reflecting on the thought, it's exactly correct. It's nice to remember him for a moment. It's been about fifteen years since his passing.
