Why Millenials need this platform

Picture it:

It’s 2005, you’re 19 years old. Green Day is jamming from your CD player. Ashton Kutcher is king of teenage/20 something hearts. Von Dutch is a fashion staple. And you’re trying to decide who’s gonna drive to the local screamo show so everyone else can drink Kharkov Vodka and Gatorade in the back seat.

Donald Trump is just an old withered orange douche bag on Reality TV that you pay no mind to. He’s not a household name. You don’t have to worry about politics if you don’t want to. Your world is a little more your own. A little smaller because you don’t have to see so many other opinions being shoved down your throat. There’s less anxiety because you can focus on your own little world instead of worry if the whole fucking human race is going to implode at any given minute.

An has stumbled upon something great. Reviving where social media began. The hero we didn’t realize we needed came through when we needed him most.

Look, I am a fucking ball of anxiety. All of the bullshit of life has given me the past 5 years is a panic disorder, PTSD and for lack of better terms, fear. Being a Millennial in American can sometimes be scary, if not unnerving. The generations who mock us have no fucking idea what it’s like to be set up to fail. And empathy? Oh God forbid we have any of that! You show any sort of caring emotion or worry you’re labeled as a “pussy”. 😂

Anyway, I’ll dive into blogging more as this site progresses but I wanted to take a moment to raise a glass to An. Thank you for reviving this platform. When I say we need it, it’s no exaggeration. I’m sure I’m not the only one horrifically over Facebook. Deleting self righteous assholes left and right. I’m losing my happy place.... and this came at the perfect time. A new happy place. Nostalgia. Back to Basics. Somewhere we can be ourselves as individuals and connect without Billybob Freedumb fucking up our vibes.

Cheers to 2021! Let’s be friends!

Bit late on this, but yeah. Social media at your own pace with customization out the wazoo -- and no constant data theft, algorithms, political BS... why in the hell we all gave this up for Facebook, I have no clue

I fucking love this site and everyone in it right now.
Certainly, some unsavory characters are going to come here, naturally.
But you’re so spot on about us needing this. I just posted a bulletin about this yesterday. This site has made me so happy because of the nostalgia rush. I feel like a teenager again. I love that I don’t get notifications right to my phone and I have to come here and actually check my notifications! I get so excited when I have friend requests and comments just like I did when I was a teen. :3

Now I just need to make 18K friends like I did on my old MySpace

Yes our generation has really been through it. From the 9/11 attacks -- Two recessions -- Skyrocketing debt -- Political uncertainty. And all these other social sites do is give us anxiety and enable doom scrolling, overspending and such. This site came just in time! Everyone's so chill here cause I think we all know how we are feeling about the world right now.

I truly could not agree with this more! I needed this huge, amazing distraction.
