my all time favorite goth/darkwave group is Bauhaus. They basically pioneered the genre in the late 70s and their music is really interesting- I couldn't recommend their album "mask" more! Another band I love is Molchat Doma- they're a modern group from belarus that makes shit straight out of the 80s! New Order is also AMAZING!
If you're into goth stuff i'd also recommend new wave groups like Talking Heads and Oingo Boingo, definitely not as dark sounding but they have a lot of overlap when it comes to fans.
