Horror Movie Reviews #4

Zombie for sale (2019)

I will start off this review by simply saying, you absolutely have to watch this movie. I truly believe there is not a single person on earth who would not enjoy this film. I’m so unbelievably glad I stumbled across it, it truly is a gem of a film. The poster is what drew me in, the bright pink and blue comic-style drew me in immediately, and after watching the film the poster was even more amazing to me! Truly I could write an entire gushing review on the poster alone, I suppose it’s just so refreshing to see a film poster that isn’t just a collage of headshots. The film itself is honestly refreshing too. It is so rare to find a film as unique as this one. It is heartwarming, funny, ridiculous and just a wonderful film. The film follows the Park family, struggling to make ends meet from their gas station business when they discover a very strange young boy who has a habit of biting. The family soon realise he is a zombie after a reference to the notable ‘Train to Busan’, (another wonderful Korean zombie movie) and panic as the oldest in the family has been bitten. However, instead of becoming a terrifying zombie, he becomes energised and full of life. Leading the family to use the zombified boy as a way to make money from locals looking to feel younger, unknowingly starting a zombie apocalypse. This film was truly unpredictable, I never expected to watch a film where not only does a girl fall in love with a zombie but the aforementioned zombie loves eating ketchup-covered cabbage. The concepts are so ridiculous but work so well, it’s such a unique and refreshing film that still includes the classic zombie movie tropes. It’s truly such a loveable, adorable and fun film and I cannot recommend it enough.
