i see a shit ton of white beings feteshizing those who r japanese / asian , and im so done w it . especially 2 those who r appropriating japanese names , sexualizing school uniforms , etc .
1 of the stereotypes tht youve prob seen is the making of white / non - asians tht miss - use japanese culture nd / or language as an aesthetic . its extremly harmful , esp towards asian women . it can make them seem submissive , obedient , nd fragile , leading 2 even bigger problems . theres also the sexualization of japanese school outfits , which is a hugeeeeeeeeee ass problem . minors wear those TO SCHOOL . nd beings r out there sexualizing it . the hypersexualization of asian women, especially japanese , is just rlly fucking sickening .
weeaboo / otaku / anime culture promotes the infantalization of asians nd japanese women . japan nd its culture is so much more then happy-go-lucky gamers who dress up like anime characters or soft-spoken lolitas , holy shit .the combination of bringing anime movies 2 western society nd the fetishization of “ fragile ” asians have created this western subcultrue in which othr parts of japan / being japanese r erased .
additionally , asians still face racism in western countries , nd 4 ( lets b frank ) mostly white people 2 adopt this aesthetic as their own nd whole-heartedly ignore the rest of japans modern-day society is privileged nd also just rlly ignorant . being japanese is not a personality trait for stupid white people to adopt ; its a whole ass society with things other than boba and sushi , including unbelievable problems regarding mental health .
if u want 2 learn about the culture , the history - both bad nd good , the language , learn abt ALL of it . dont cherry-pick the things tht just appeal 2 what western society has reduced it 2 .
coming from someone who has experienced this first hand . /srs
( pls spread this !!!! this needs to be talked about . )
spreading awareness about asian feteshization !!
