- Accessories. The style was very maximalist, with multiple studded belts, bracelets, necklaces and more
- Thick Eyeliner. Black eyeliner that covered much of the eyelid and extended far outward
- Piercings. Statement earrings and facial piercings
- Big, Colored Hair. Hair was teased to new heights, with experimental highlights and the rise of “raccoon hair”
- Band and Cartoon Shirts/Merch. Used to represent one's favorite bands or TV shows, often bought at Hot Topic
- Neon Colors: Differs from emo fashion, as bright colors are now incorporated into fashion

- Warped Tour. A traveling rock tour that ran from 1995 to 2019. It often featured many singers and bands that were popular in the scene community. Became a meeting place for Scene Kids all over the country. Some of those involved reflected on it in a Nylon Mag interview a few years ago:
