So I watched Sonic 2..multiple times

But I have to say this is one of my favourite versions of sonic and eggman so far. The first movie I understand wasn't for everyone, many have said eggman was just Jim Carrey in a cosplay, which is a fair critique. However I really value the way they built up to the more cartoonish version of Robotnik as well as the whole surroundings of the film, it was a large improvement on the first without taking anything away from the experience of the story, and I feel needed a good base that was more rooted in the real world than the one the second movie provided. So..what else was good? 

Well, of course the introduction of Tails and Knuckles into the series. The first film held many emotional and touching moments, and this was definitely carried through into the second, I won't leave any spoilers but the connection between the main trio made watching it even more wholesome and enjoyable. Aside from the narrative standpoint, the return of Tail's VA since 2014 made me feel even more immersed in the universe, though I will admit like most I was skeptical of Idris Elba voicing Knuckles, however I was greatly surprised by how well he suited the role. I think he really brought out what I liked about Knuckles in other media(yes even Sonic Boom lol) and gave it a bit of a spin to fit in with the story. I especially liked the ending scene(again no spoilers, those who know, know). 

Overall I'm so glad the fandom bullied the devs into changing the design of Sonic in the first movie, else who knows where it'd be today 0-0 

I've not always been proud to be a part of this fanbase, it's gotten some bad press over the years and often rightly so, but having grown a bit I hope we can all enjoy the franchise in a bit more peace
