Wholesome Death Note.

Wholesome Death Note is how I would sum up Ya Boy Kongming after watching 3 episodes. And I'm here for it!

I'm so glad that Kongming also isn't just rehashing a stratagem in modern day every episode. This episode he uses new tricks to get people to notice Eiko. Not only that, but he really plans ahead. It doesn't feel like a cheap knock off of Kongming. The show captures what it would be like if these plans were executed by the real deal. I love that despite him having good intentions, he also has a manipulative side to him to get people to do his bidding. This is absolutely on brand. Not only does he help Eiko gain a large crowd, but he also befriends a rival band, while drawing in some mysterious people. Well, mysterious in that the episode ends just as they show up.

It also seems like the Bar owner is starting the realize that Kongming might just be the real deal. I don't know if this plot point will ever get expanded upon. It would definitely be interesting to see where that goes.

I think what the show needs is an interesting antagonist. We are only 3 episodes into the show, so my guess is they're just setting up the characters first before introducing the antagonists. We can see a rival group in the intro, and their names were mentioned in episode 1. We need powerful rivals that'll try to thwart Kongming. I think episode 4 will rise the stakes though. The mystery people might be music producers.
