Can someoen explain to me why so much breakcore music i listen to samples/references serial experiments lain? Dont get me wrong i love the music and i Love SEL but why is imagery of lain and samples from the anime always used for this genre? Im so confused XD

Hayy! Fellow breakcore and SEL lover here. In my experience… both psychological horror and break core give and uneasy and liminal feeling to the watcher/listener. SEL fans may like breakcore more than the average listener because it gives the same trippy and unnerving feeling of unease you get when watching psychological and philosophically heavy horror. With the themes of old internet being present in both SEL and breakcore, webcore, liminal, noise, hyperpop etc, the interests of SEL ( N similar shows ) and these genres overlap. Hope this helped!
