Solstice Canyon, Malibu - travel entry, 4/12/22

Today I had the opportunity to walk the waterfall trail in the Malibu Solstice Canyon. It was an amazing hike from the beautiful hills to the white and orange butterflies. Fresh mugwort grew alongside the creek bed. Where as the trail was lined with stinging nettle keeping many tourists on the trail and away from the flowers, and trees. About a mile into the hike we came across the Stone and Tin house the remnants of which was limited to a few stone walls and a broken in tin slab, of what I assume made up a part of the roof. Continuing on the trail the flowers and brush was beautiful and unique but this beauty was only matched by the wildlife that resides there. Once we made it to the waterfall it was honestly underwhelming but had lovely lace ferns. Overall the parts on the canyon I got to explore 7/10 where as the waterfall which was the focal point 3/10.
